This is at a local auction house being sold next Friday. I never had a orange saw so it's got my attention. All it says is ran fine last year, for what that's worth. 34" bar. What is the going rate for a scenario such as this ? Can this be made into a fun/fast/powerful toy ? Or is it just a torquey tractor for long bars ? I already have a 880 with 59"and 42" but it's only seen a few tanks of gas and I use it more as a shelf queen. I won't mind the size/weight if it can cut fast, maybe a big sprocket ? Thanks for any advice .
You'll be in the $300 range. If you get it and want more info i can help you with a few names of porters, but there are many more folks on here that know way more than i do.
Thanks guys for the replies !! I'm still trying to figure out a Max bid price on a saw that I wouldn't see until I pick it up. Auction is up Monday so I need to get the wife on board (you know the ANOTHER SAW ???? Deal) or mentally write it off.
they are over a grand new so worth half that used as a runner but since you dont know if it runs I would personally bid $400, knowing i can get that out of the parts most likely if it isnt a runner
Thank you. I keep telling myself $500 is the max based on gut from studying the pics, not even scratched and nothing broken. BUT it's owned by a ritzy day camp so who knows what it's could have been through being run by non owners.... I bought a flail mower from the local Boy scout camp, outside looks new, underneath half the flails ripped off and a failed bearing worn right through the housing till the belts wouldn't drive anymore. At least I knew that going in.
Stock they are tractors. Very heavy and pulls the longest bar imaginable. Eric (ECSaws) can change all that as you’ve seen.
Getting caught up in the thrill of the hunt doesn't buy you a better saw than patience If you are bidding on something you cant buy anywhere else or that you can only aquire in time by buying at auction then perhaps a little extra risk is warranted but you can buy a new 3120 with warranty at any husky dealer and be assured of what you are getting. Not knowing condition makes it too risky for me. Dave
Thanks Dave, I think I'm going to pass on it. I was just going to play around with it anyway. I appreciate your advice.
