How can it be safer? Put gel on the pellets, and you have to get your hand right in there, inches from the pellet/gel mix to ignite it? nah......good ole fashioned MAP gas!

Neat Gizmo might be good for the outdoor use starting fires but have to concur with everyone else , I have a couple of Mapp torches down in the basement just in case one of the stoves needs some help getting started works like a charm.

H e double toothpick I soak a handful of pellets in rubbing alcohol toss them into the pot one little match will do the job no need for even a Mapp torch to light it off.

Well you have to be careful no matter what fire starter you use.

I know someone that used a tad of gasoline. Yada, yada, yada he needed a new convection fan and a new fire extinguisher.

You guys are missing the point. What if there’s a severe rainstorm inside the stove when you’re trying to light it?

yes, certainly you do, but alcohol is pretty explosive itself.........dont worry, the hairs grew back......at least with the ole propylene, my hands aren't right in the mix, and there's no danger of residual liquid on my hands when i light the stove...

LOL.I used gel for years,in the integra, then found out was faster with the self igniting torch,30 to 60 seconds, depending on how much pellets I threw in.Also,I have used cheap antiseptic hand wash, lots of alcohol,it works, good thing to take camping, that or pringles.
