my next door neighbor had 2 mulberry trees taken down today. The tree crew was nice enough to pile it on my property for me.

    Time to get splitting.

Nice. I love the big rounds. Less handling.

Mulberry is great looking wood. I just split and stacked a bunch last week. Also saving some for the smoker. Haven't ever tried to smoke with it but have heard it's similar to apple.

Good Deal, great burning wood. I might do a small test run in the smoker. A friend did a pork loin w mostly maple and used just a couple of pieces of mulberry. The results weren't good. Hedge, Osage Orange, is in the mulberry family. Usually species that weep milky sap aren't good in the smoker, but Good Luck.

Interesting. Other BBQ forums have stated good results with Mulberry wood and like I said have compared it to Apple. Quite honestly I wouldn't have really thought to try it if not for reading those forums.

Great score! I’m currently burning some mulberry (aged 3 years) mixed into my splits. I love it.
