Wait a minute. You are supposed to be retired and so is she. Why are you spending so much time on the road? Slow down and enjoy life!

13 here but WINDY. Wind chill minus ten. Had a tarp loosened up when I got home from work, so that's all squared away now. Looks like quite a bit of ice in the forecast, don't want the stack I'm pulling from to turn into a brick wall. Red maple doing the heating.

8 degrees out and 80 in:D. Wind is howling. Yard and drive has 2 inches of snow on top of ice so I am working inside on taxes :headbang:. They say the wind chill is negative. Oh well I still got a cord on wood deck so it can wait til its not :shiver: out

14 here now, and after a ash clean out this morning, the stove is back on line with Hard Maple fending off the cold.

We've got -23 C feels -32 C, or -10 F feels -26 F so far this evening, with a bit lower temp and more wind for later. I need to start importing locust, and get a bigger stove!

Coldest December and Jan since we got the stove. Maybe November too.

I'm considering an upgrade for next year, something a bit bigger that will meet ctc with where the stack is.

You have to remember, I don't have a big area to heat, 720 square feet, but I keep the far room mostly closed until the evening, essentially cutting off 100 square feet. Well, heat gets in there, but it's about 55 F:shiver: And we still use oil, just 1/4 of what we used to. The key to this stove is to not slobber smoke, or outrun winter, but a nice fire running pretty clean but not racing.

I use an nc-13 at the cottage which is just over 500 sq. ft. and think that stove is a touch too small sometimes. Well, at least while I'm waiting for it to heat the place up! Once it up to temp, all is good.

It is zero out of doors with a breeze that would freeze a witch’s behind.

The Wood Gun has been filled to the top with Maple. I will get an eight hour burn out of this. Stay warm my friends.

Last night was supposed to be some temp or another, but this morning Weatherunderground said we were at -10, and Accuweather said -4.
I think it was gonna' hit about 14 today, but I don't know where it went to.
WU now says we're at 8 and AlmostNeverAccuweather says we're at 9 at the moment.
The snow is crunchy, although not as crunchy as this morning, and the hairs in my nostrils aren't freezing at the first breath outside, so it can't be too cold.
I got tired of feeding the stove, so the wall furnace is keeping the house on a roller coaster temp ride until bed. 73 IAT right now.

Burning elm, beech and cherry. 15° out tonight. Snow moving in tomorrow. We could get 5-8", depending on the lake effect from lake Michigan.

Are the big lakes frozen over yet? Around here in the north country, if the wind keeps up, it slows ice in by a lot with the waves. But we have good ice now. It's the Pond hockey tournament on lake Winnepasaukee this weekend with 20 or so rinks plowed and hundreds of teams playing old school hockey on the ice from all over the world. 4 players each team.
