We had a little dusting of snow last night and this morning. Then the sun came out and no wind. That is a rarity here. 26* F out and so I could not help but go outside for a bit and do some cutting.

9F here now, low of about 4 they say. Temp fell from 32 at 6:00 A M to 15 by noon with a nasty wind. Wind's dropped off a bit now thankfully. Snow for the weekend they say. Red Oak in the furnace.

It looks as treeless there as The North Slope :) .
Perhaps it's just a very successful logging show !!
Log er clean , blade er flat !!
A practice I whole heartedly endorse btw

Woke up to -11 but with a feel of -30. I'm gonna sit tight for awhile and enjoy the coffee.

Glad I shoveled when we got home last night!

Ive only been burning at night. It dips only to 40 some degrees, again I do this to stave off the cold moisture or dry clothes and whatnot. Theres a big warming trend to come starting next Thursday with temps 55 and slightly up. Not sure for how long but interestingly that even though higher spring-like temps here means night’s get clear. That often means it gets colder at night. Last year was a swinging temps deal where it was colder earlier, then progressed to warmer weather then came a smack of snow for a couple days. After that, winter was pretty much over.

I'm into a lot of beech from the shed which hasn't been emptied in many years.
    I'll be glad when it's gone .
I like it in my shoulder stove . It sucks in my furnace .
Makes decent heat but soots up my forced draft vents in the furnace and it doesn't run the best.
