Well I am from Wyoming and I burn pine in my stove every day. Keeps the house nice and warm and I only clean it once a year during the summer time. Fly ash is all I ever get out of it. Oh yea I cut all the trees down so no trees in the pics.
I remember early/mid 2000's husband had a traveling job (gone all week) I found a pallet plant that would deliver untreated pine scraps for a reasonable $, and dump it right next to my front door for me. One of my customers bought a truck load too after I told her I was pleased how this filled the gap with WWW traveling every week, she took it all to the dump after her neighbor said it would ruin her stove/chimney and was dangerous I would have loaded up what I could but I too was working 60 hour weeks and she was almost an hour away. Tinder dry good wood, gimme a break! Didn't even leave a bark trail across the house bringing arm loads in!! That said, since I moved to a small town across the border in Wy, (it's so far behind the times it's crazy), too many people here cut and burn the same season not to mention the same day. The chimney here when we bought this house was a nightmare from wet wood. Yes Gpsfool , too bad for those that don't understand, better for us And maulhead has some fun pics of splitting trees on the high plains without a live tree in sight too.
I gotta ask... What are the names of the other husbands? I read this through and was surprised to see that you recall your husband like a car that was seen leaving the crime scene. Just kidding...It made sense when I went back and read it again, I still found it kinda funny.
I can see that now. Ya, just one marriage for both of us, somehow we've made it almost 30 years now since we met I try to be clear on here with typing but make some awful fun comedy by accident sometimes
The standard for EPA testing is Doug Fir at 25% moisture by weight. (20% by volume) So yes they actually test with wood that we consider to be wet.
Had a Quad 3100 in my past house i had. Was a nice little stove liked the front and rear dampers. Only problem i ever had was the crappy fire brick it came with didn't last long at all. The replacements were much better. Easy to replace though two in the back have hole's in them that need to be drilled in them.
