View attachment 154248 Got a decent load in today. Looking forward to getting it split this coming week.
I got a very nice Sunday scrounge myself- Craigslist post that yielded a full 8 foot bed worth, already a couple of years old and neatly stacked. It was left behind at a home and the new homeowner didn’t want it. The best part is that there about 3-4 more loads to go; and the owner took the posting off of Craigslist for me so that I can have it all!
The bigger stuff was a standing dead. The rest has been cut and left whole for a year now. Not sure ok moisture content but I can check later and let you know.
I’ll break out the moisture meter when I split them. There’s a second cool part to the story- the homeowner said that they were going to have between 10-12 smaller trees (pointed out some 8-12 inch trees) taken down in order to clear out their view which is a little crowded; and asked if I would want them when the trees were taken down. Most definitely, says I!!!!
That does suck !! It was a beautiful day. A little warm for my liking to be cutting but still near perfect.
interesting to see bare ground. We have been under snow cover for a couple months with another two months to go.
I wish we were but here you never know. I have seen winters that we have zero snow and I have seen 28” in two days. Was 60 here today but some cold coming they say.
Had a great day here, weather-wise. managed to squeeze in turning two previously downed trunks into split wood between politicin' appointments. Going to take a day off this week to play catch up. Tracking my trailer shipment from Northern Tool. Cannot wait to give it a try. Will be very handy hauling in those 300 lb bucks this Fall. I am sure you got a feeling of accomplishe, ent when the sun set.
some nice timbers there gentleman I miss being able to cut but at the moment to damm hot equals too dangerous both for me my old macs and the landowners but cooler weather will com it always does will get some pics taken of my hoarding
