Low teens tonight, 9mph wind. Just packed her full o oak, two rounds in back the rest is splits all 22”
Pretty handy that our owbs will burn whatever we run through them, but I don't think I'll ever go back to splitting and burning right away. Getting even marginally ahead (about a year and a half so far, sitting for 2.5 this summer)) has made the whole thing a lot easier to handle. I can get away with smaller loads, cold starts heat up a lot faster and catch easier, reduced wood consumption, etc. Are you burning off the stump, or just happened to come across some wet stuff that had to go? 17 here, supposed to bottom out at 6. Only a light breeze, burning black walnut and sugar maple.
Well at least it didn't wait for Feb! I know you North East guys are gonna tell me to can it but I was thinking it was never gonna snow. 31 right now. Got some Fir, Ponderosa Pine and a cheap Bourbon goin' at the moment
-4 at the moment. It snowed some last night. Which is fairly rare that it snowed when below 0 . as of 7:30 this morning . I forgot to hit post. It's 20 below atm. Poplar in the stove.
-22 now. Nice and calm. That really fine cold weather snow we got last night and this morning turned into around 3" . We sure do got some snow here. Around 3 feet of settled snow on the ground here. Gonna have to make some bolt on wings for my plow. Either that or borrow a skid steer to move some berms back. A skid steer is pretty high up on my list of things I need to get.
Holdiong at 25 now. I think we just may make it into the 40's, as they say! Snowbanks are pushed back in anticipation of it.
4 degrees at 8 am, I see the sun. Supposed to get to 40 tomorrow hope that helps with the ice. Ground is white, house is warm burning mix ash, elm, maple
Currently sitting at -14 C feels -22 C, or 7 F feels -7 F. Still have the snowfall warning in effect, and think we're gonna get 'er today. There's travel not advised due to poor roads/weather starting about 20 minutes away from here.
