Well done! Good to see you out in the cold. You are a gooder man than I! I'm not going back out there until it hits at least 40°. I see hackberry, ash and maybe some maple.
It was a long day for sure , and yes I stoked the fireplace up nice and hit the recliner and didn’t move until Monday morning. Got some oak , lots of hickory and some hackberry. That’s what I can identify anyway , tree indemnification is not my strong suite for sure. I know a hardwood when i see it and that’s about all I care about other than keeping the hickory separated for a smokehouse in town that buys from me.
Thats quite a pile...and those stacks... niceee. Cutting, splitting and stackin at the weekend is my favort thing to do... looks like you got the same hobby
I have a huge fireplace. I can fit a 38” log but who wants to handle a 38” log !! House was built in the late 20’s And the old fireplace was pretty much kept as it is. I know it’s not efficient regarding heat output but it will do the job. I can heat the whole living area and part of the kitchen plus one bedroom with just the fireplace, it helps with the bills you know.
Now thats a haul to be had my friend, a solid cord.. Good wood warms u twice so they say! Love it live it burn it.. Make the home warm and smell great at the same time.
To each their own and if it works for you then great!! If I had a fireplace that large my issue would be keeping the kids from building it in to an indoor "fort". LOL
Hahaha ! Yeah , I can’t afford to reconstruct to a more efficient wood burner so I deal with it. I can get some monster fires going in it tho !!
