I have had a few small fires in the stove. Today will be the real test. 8:30 am temp inside and out is 36 just touched her off with some cedar scraps and some white birch as it’s the only wood that is short enough to fit in the stove. Interested to see what happens.

Cool! I mean Hot.... :D Try closing the doors on your stove while she's burning, you'll get a lot more heat from it. :) My buddies Intrepid works so much better with the doors shut.. His wife likes the ambiance of the fire while open but it heats better doors closed.

Greatly appreciated sir! I tend to come off as a smart azz. My apologies. Unfortunalty I think it was a bit unrealistic to think that this stove would heat an uninsulated cold building. I did the same thing with my a jotul 602 in my camp. Oh well it was free. Another chapter in my wood burning adventure

The pre EPA stoves work great for a shop, the non cat EPA stoves tend to coal up when driven hard.

Any thoughts about painting it up and flipping it for a few hundred and buy something bigger?

If you want to go bigger, I got something for ya! ;) $300.00 and a little drive gets you this Kodiak:jaw: I'm "sure" that'll heat your shop! It was an insert but was used as a garage heater very briefly. It got them TOO HOT! :dennis:

Thanks for the offer but I’m allergic to NJ.... no offense to anybody that lives there but it’s not for me.

Steel stoves can be had for cheap around here. I’ll just wait for the right one to pop up on CL
