The parts manager at the Stihl shop that I sometimes use said he has a new, unused 25" full skip chain he'd sell to me for $15. It's a special order that was never picked up.

$15 for a Stihl chain is of course a great deal, but a 25" full skip? What's that gonna be like on a 661?o_O

Go for it that's a pretty cheap price! How's your revamped and reworked 661 doing?

Running like a Stihl should! It took long enough!

That's a good deal. Jump now.
It would also run decently on as small as a 60cc Class pro saw for when you don't wanna lug the 661 out.

Before I got my 066, I ran a 28" full skip on my 361 for a couple monster scrounges. Not the fastest, but got her done.

I only see it being slower cutting than full comp. @ such a cheap price, why not.

I run skip chain on all saws and bar sizes. I don’t find it to be slower cutting and it’s half the cutters to sharpen! Win win. I’d jump on that if it were me.

Get that before someone jumps on that. That’s a no brainer, should have walked out the door with that. I personally don’t like skip, but for $15, yes... even if you don’t like now you have a cheap chain when you need one and don’t want to use a good full comp.

It's not a bad deal if you're not worried about speed......like in racing or something.

That's a great price, and an added benefit of skip tooth is it takes half the time to sharpen it up....

Well I bought it just because of the price!

    :makeitrain"

As soon as I use it I'll post a report.

I have ran lots of 24 full skip. As said above full comp will cut faster. A great feature of full skip is alot less teeth to sharpen.
