rottiman sorry to hear you have the flu in the household. Staying home is the best place to be. I hope it is over quick.

Headed out for our walk in what looks like NO rain. We really got hit hard the last couple of days. Usual for this time of year but we are getting too used to the drier winter so far.

Sorry to hear about your honey Rotti. Not fun. There's reason to hope you won't get it too... 3 years ago, my honey had it... I was 100% sure I'd get it too. Poor girl was blowing up at all ends (rocket launched across from the throne into a closet)... as I cleaned it all up, I knew it was just a matter of time. All I did was wash my hands before any touching food I was eating, and never touched my face, at all. I never got the flu. I never have had a flu shot, btw. My wife has, every year.

Good luck with your honey. Hope she's better soon.

Well, that's bad news to start the day off with rottiman I have heard on the radio that the number of incidents of flu have shot up this past week.

Sure hope your Mrs. pulls through as quick as possible and who knows....maybe just maybe you'll dodge the bullet.

They've been saying that they blew it and the shot is only effective for 10% of the flu cases going around. It's always a gamble as to which strains they pick for the next year's shot - and last spring their dartboard let them down. They are saying that the shot is lessening the length of time that people are affected if they catch the flue, so that is something anyway.

Only time I got the flue bug was from that dang shot the ex made me get- she got it too - Karma., that was 30+ years ago haven't got one them shots since and haven't had the flue either. Course I have very limited contact with the population as a whole so maybe that is why.

Electric wall oven. Think a thermal fuse blew according to what I've read on the interwebs.

    Love my gas cooktop.

With the forecast shooting for the low 40's today, I think I may even drag out the grill for some steaks!

    We'll see.

Controls or element if electric, Gas same but pilot light or spark starter- plus the flame sensor/ thermocouple. Electric elements connection burn off. Gas the the pilot sensor gets crudded up - so the gas valve won't open for the main flame. Can't be much help on the control side as the last 2 of mine got spiked to death. The last one was spread all over the kitchen.

Have you checked the power line to unit? with today's ground fault stuff weird things happen. Couple months back son called . Half his home was dead. he knew it was a ground fault unit- could not find it. Took me about 30 minutes to find it- in his defense with 3 little ones running around it's hard to stay focused.

Caffeine going in to be followed by breakfast. Today will consist of replacing center bricks in wood boiler, called the nozzle. Letting it cool now. The bubbling goo has taken over. :picard:I don’t want that running for long.

Then will be feeding the horses in the higher pasture and closing the gate to keep them up there while I remove all the snow with the 3550 from behind the barn. Scrape everything down good before it unfreezes.

Moving firewood, cleaning up garage, etc. will follow.

    Three day weekend!:dex:

I can't cook at all using electric, but a gas stove/oven is great
