Three responses. One joke, two dead serious. Each stands on its own: 1) Why the hell would they want to? 2) Probably a good thing as far as Vermont is concerned. 3)Most Americans (Talking residents of the U.S. here I assume?) can find anything they care to on a map so long as they can spell it half azz well enough to type it in to their smart phone.
Are you getting this windstorm, HolsatiaRedneck ? Hurricane-Force Winds In Europe Halt Flights, Rip Roofs And Topple Trees Hurricane-Force Winds In Europe Halt Flights, Rip Roofs And Topple Trees
pretty sure top one is up in the islands. A rookie pulled his truck off the side of the road in a ditch, and didn't realize that winds on a frozen lake blow snow across the islands. But it's probably happened more than once. The rookie made the news while complaining that the boss made him take a shovel and dig the truck out
Actually that's a very apt metaphor. We should adopt that in the English-speaking world. Might take a bit of adjustment though ... "Come on down to The Car Slaughterhouse for great deals! Prime gearboxes with free basting oil. Spare ribs ... ah, I mean spare RIMS. Slow cooked radiators. Full-leather drivers' seats (skin on). Cylinder heads with all the fixin's ... ah, make that FASTENERS ..."
Thanks buddy and thanks to everyone else showin intrest for my stuff. We were right in the center so we just got a brise with some snow, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia got hit pretty hard. Thats what it looked like at my bit, out and about with the ole mutt. On the 2nd picture you can see a big willow tree downed by another storm some weeks ago. In Thuringia, a firefighter died while being on duty, he and his comrades were rescueing a women trapped in her car. Which was blocked by knocked over trees, another tree fell and hit him and another firefighter who is heavily injured. Eventually they called in an Army Tank (SpZ Marder i think it is) to proceed the rescue of the women. In Lower Saxony, Harz Region these firefighters also had a difficult time. I think weve been very lucky uphere.
Most Americans are only aware of Vermont during a presidential election, or for the miss USA broadcast... And no they don't know where it is. I will give you that vermont and Maine and the UP are pretty empty.
Finaly saturday, out for a wee bit - still on zhis treeline. Roe Deer left some traces Standing in the ditch, while cutting, bothers me... One by one. Zhe ole Pickaroon, very nice! I'm gettin there. Enjoy your weekend and keep stacking!
I reckon i have to find out myself and compare it Who wouldnt like vacation across the pond Thanks! Next storm is coming though and i hope it wont be that bad again. While it was quiet here this time others werent that lucky. I reckon i have to put that on my bucket list
Air fare is painful, but lodging is probably a bit cheaper here than there... Especially if you like being in the sticks.
Awritey leoht i made it! More to come as i need around 10 of them. My Buddy supervised the whole thing - he got all the superviser brew with him.
Though, I seem to recall a picture taken at Backwoods Savage's place, where a helpful group of men put together similar crates earlier this winter.
Zhe idea is just fekkin great, i had to do that too, the lids i had werent even half as good. And to be honest, every ibc looks like a wee cabine now - how can you not like that? Yep, i think it saw them today on the kubota thread.
Yes, and you could make them even more realistic by cutting a little hole, fitting a flue and a miniature wood-burner in the centre of the IBC and keeping it burning from the wood that's right there beside it. That would save you having to carry the wood to the house to burn it.
Been splitting some Ash today. Which got me a full IBC Box, with the extended lid theres still some space left for more. Cut the Maple today, gonna split most of it the morra. Its gonnae be a full IBC with top up... need to haul them away with the frontloader. As their to easy to reach from the road, dont wannae chance it to feel the pleasure of a 5-Fingers-Discount. Anyhow, nice to end this day like this... just having a beer. Prost!
