    That didn't take long for the forecast to be wrong. Sitting at -18 C or -1 F for the moment. Poplar in the reactor.

    I usually wear microfiber headbands that cover the ears when i work. It went down to 2 degrees this morning. This is the coldest it's been here in a decade and we still don't have our chimney in. Both have had the flue badly and i'm still trying to get over it.

    Thanks Midwinter. The cabin is nice and warm, so is the dog house but the electric bill is going to be horrendous. It's supposed to warm up by the weekend.

    I still have not shoved any snow around but probably should. Then when the thaw comes (hopefully starting tomorrow) it won't be so messy.

    34° and dropping here with the snow picking up it's pace. Got mainly hickory with a little white oak mixed in burning steadily. Going to be dropping to 16° tonight. Wishing I had a wood stove though. If it wasn't for the marble surrounding the fireplace this thing would be terribly inefficient [​IMG]

    I get lazy about posting in this thread when its normal out. :emb: currently 16 degrees out 82 in stove room burning ash on 12 hour re fill cycles.. Or yawn :D.

    This is what I woke up to this morning. Bout as cold here as I can remember. I think it may have been colder in the 70’s when I was a kid but I don’t remember House was a little cool at 56. Should’ve went with the white oak I guess
