Flamestead, I have some leftover Kevlar panels if you want to fashion a loin cloth!

In regards to firehose pants I find the double front Carhartt pants much better . More comfortable and last longer for less$

As I'll be about 90mins from the Labonville Gorham NH store in February, I'm hoping to have the opportunity to go there for their chaps and see what else they have of interest.

Chaps came in today. It will be awhile before I go out cutting again.

Labonville full wrap, green...measure them correctly for max protection.

They have saved my left knee on two occasions...

This thread prompted me to get a pair. Came Saturday. Sunday chain knicked the knee. Won't cut without them.
Always wear ear and eye protection too. Have too many things to do rather than convalescing.

Speaking of Labonville chaps (and cause I'm a lazy ole geezer), is there a "sell by date" on chaps? Back in the day, my issued Point Blank vest had a 5 year life span..

I had the opportunity to get to the Labonville store in GorhamNH, this past weekend.

They had a clearance sale going on, as well as a coupon for 20% off.

So... I took a bit of an advantage -

    Part_2.jpeg

I never had a spare bar for my 2 chainsaws - I do now.

Looking forward to using the Husky 12" tongs. It seems to work ok after a few test lifts. I'm sure there's a knack in using it that I'll figure out. Shouldn't be too difficult to master.

$12 for new chains -

And of course the chaps. Full wrap around the calves. Never had them. Mrs MikeinMA can rest easier now. Me too! I expect to put them to use this weekend, if not tomorrow, when I get to attacking my pile of oak logs again

Customer service at the store was top notch. Exceeded my expectations.

I also spun a wheel they had at the counter and got a $40 gift card, usable only at Gorham. I'll have no problem going back to use it... and probably exceed it.

I use Stihl denim chainsaw pants. Had them professionally hemmed and wear them with red suspenders so I look like a hillbilly. Haven't dinged them yet, never hope to test them, but the do have a full certification tag sewn into them. They are very warm, so I will usually wear shorts underneath them.

Hmmm... I have some red suspenders around. Even though the chaps are ummmm.... snug, the suspenders should provide added color. ~smile~
