it was 67 today and im not burning anything at the moment low of 32 tonight. i will start the stove in the morning winter is expecting to show up again tomorrow morning with freezing rain changing snow. ice accumulation up to 3 inches with up to 5 inches of snow suppose to windy also my area is under a winter storm warning. i hate it but im prepared for the worse.
38* here now, was up in the 50's feeling like April. I'm not burning anything, just bumped the FHA on for 5 or 10 minutes. I deserve a lazy night. I cleared off the stacks today so that snow wouldn't hold the coming rain and crush the top cover plywood from the weight. I filled the porch wood boxes for the coming rain and then ice and secured the storm tarp to keep that wood dry. Expecting 30 mph winds with the rain. The cold returns Sunday, Monday.
-4f here I got the oak slabs under control so I can fill stove now ya 1000 lbs of slabs .. I will work my way up . To see when draft fans clicking off and see how much temp creeps up on water temp.. add 100 lbs to each fill next few days to each load.. Heat550 Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
55 deg in the city with no pity ... I’m about 1/4 mile away from a giant ice-cube so I’m sure it broke 60 inland
Well we are back in the freezer section after a few days in just the refrigerator.... 9 F outside and 70 F inside... Got me some Honey Locust and Oak providing the BTU's today....
-14f slabs are burning . Choking draft fans to slow down burn was the trick . Slab burning is a different world.. Heat550 Sent from my LG-H900 using Tapatalk
42 here. Weather app says it’s 52 in the big city. Rain and more rain. We have received a good bit of rain in the last 12 hours. And with all that snow melted or melting there could be some issues in the low areas. Next up is the return of normal cooler temps and the snow storm. 6-10” or more depending on where you look. Pine in the boiler.
28* and snowing now. I woke up at 530 to the sound of ice pellets hitting the windows. School was canceled because of the ice so today I am staying home with the kids and feeding the stove. Normally the house would be abuzz right now with everyone getting ready for school and work. It's nice to sit by the fire and enjoy my coffee.
Right around zero now....(just below overnight) but this is also going to be the high temp of the day. Got snow yesterday-easily 8" by the last time I shoveled
32 and it looks like we got some ice/sleet..guess cast of snow later..temps falling to 10 degrees tonight. Gonna feed ash, hedge apple and who knows what else to that greedy hungry s.o.b. out back.
56 this morning with rain, a couple birch coals left from last nights 3 split fire. Light southwest wind with a few small gusts. Around lunch time it’s supposed to swing around to a north wind and start dropping temperature. Rain changing to ice changing to snow sounds like by dark supposed to be upper teens and snowing hard. Calling for 5”-12” into tommorrow, we shall see..... Loaded the wood rack in the mud room this morning with ash, maple, cherry and a couple oak splits.
Same as everyone else, high 40 s and rain going to minus 8 and snow after 7 tonite. They are guessing 4 to 12 plus inches snow! That narrows it down a bit
sipping HHO today and tomorrow cleaning out ashes tonight or tomorrow as Winter is supposed to return Sunday night
