I trust this finds each of you well. During my post-op downtime I'm planning the dreaded garage reorganization and purge. I've seen some pics in the past of how folks store your saws, wall hanging methods, "saw-trees", etc. Hoping some members will post how you organize your saws and stuff? I only have 3 but they take up valuable floor space in my 24x24 garage. Thanks in advance for your help.
Howdy! I too had this very question and posted it on ope. Just thought I'd share as it has a few good ideas. Show us your saw rack
I'll have to snap a picture, but I just put three long straight "hooks" into a beam in my barn, one for each saw...and I hang them by their handle. Its nice being longer than necessary because I can hang extra chains on it as well, and keep the chains separated according to which saw they go to. I dont have a picture of the setup but this is the type of hook I use: The ones I got are a bit heavier duty than these...but you get the idea.
Funny you bring this up! I had one then 3 now we’ll .... I’ve actually got to put a couple more shelves up but this works good for me. It’s also just scrap 2x pieces and some scrape plywood. Screw the 2x to the wall and then screw the plywood to it. You could actually tilt them even more to make the set up more compact. Don’t forget the little 2x cleat on top with enough space between it and the wall for the bar to stick through. My 372 with 28” bar usually sits here on the empty one.
I like JDirt's option, simple and easy. I've put up french cleats in the work area and it works great for organizing all things.
I was really hoping for more examples of saw storage in the shed/garage-appreciate those posted thus far- Blstr88 I have some of those hooks, mine are coated yellow, I'm thinking they may be heavy enough-Thank you
Sorry I'm not any help. All but 2 of mine sit on the floor and are kind of in the way. My MS170 is hung up on a hook and the HT131 is on 2 hooks.
I'm also in the process of organizing my garage. I have a plan in my head for keeping the generator, saw, and saw kit close to the front door and easily accessible.
The 2 man and bow we're both from my Dad's side. The buzz saw blade was from my Mom's side. I have a few more of them 2 man saws still that I haven't hung up.
Great timing! Ive been looking for ideas to organize the saw stuff but have it easy to access every weekend. Right now i have a big table that i have my saws under with my gas cans, spare chains etc in milk crates on top. Large footprint but easy to get to.
Been meaning to get the rest up, finally had 5 minutes this morning. Nothing but some scrap plywood and 2x’s. I call it the “Wall of Brrraaaappp” Trying to get things in order before I start another project
