CoreyB I've been struggling with my mom these last few months. I'm saddened to hear you are as well, but I've always got some extra prayer power for a friend. Praying for a speedy recovery for your mom and peace for the rest of your family!
Bless her and your family. My grandfather has had two strokes, and is still kicking azz at 91 - it is scary, but can be recovered from!
Thank you all! Just a quick update. She is conscious and alert. Speech is impaired, and movement is not good. All your prayers are meet with huge appreciation and thankfulness that I can not even attempt to put into words. Thank you friends!
I am sorry to hear this and my thoughts are with you and your family. Best wishes for your mother to recover. My Dad had a stroke; took him awhile to recover; it affected his right side arm, hand, and leg lost strength It was hard on Dad because he was a very active man, loved hunting and fishing and just about anything outdoors. Dad did recover a lot but had to learn to do things with his left hand such as holding a fork, writing etc. He even was able to walk with a foot brace but had to go slow so he would not stumble and fall. It was hard to see my big strong father not being able to do the things he loved. I think Dad would have recovered more but he was forced to stop therapy; the therapist told us that Dad needed more work but we didn't have the funds and the insurance cut him off of additional treatments. Dad's stroke was caused by his blood pressure getting too high; he ran out of meds and didn't have the money; I wish he had let us know because we would have found the money; Dad was very independent.
