I would guess tied into the head lights, non switched - on all the time, or not connected yet on the other end. A meter should answer that quickly and determine what you need to do next.

BTW, your front axle has Kubota Super UDT2 hydro oil in it from the factory. That is all you ever want to run in there. It may (I'm not sure) be acceptable to put gear oil in there, but I never would. I can't imaging getting that junk out of there for service or routine changeover. Yuck.

 

Yes there is a float. Kubota loader controls are just SWEET, as Well Seasoned is finding out.

 

B vs. L. If you don't need the extra bulk and weight of the L, then the B is WAY BETTER. Your B series is a premium setup with lots of high-end features, like a much nicer seat, much nicer 3pt linkages and a whole lot more "upgrades." The L series is an "economy" line, so they cut a lot of corners to get the price down. The "Grand L" is the premium line of the L series.

 

"Float" is "all the way up." Push the lever up to the detent, then push a little farther past the denent and the bucket will float on it's own weight.

 

Mine are always on, although I think they are on the starter switch.

I bought 4 of the Safego 18w flood LEDs from Amazon as I didn’t want to spend a lot. I didn’t want to have to worry too much about them in the woods. I mainly use them for snow removal in the winter as it always seems to be dark when I do that. They got pretty good reviews and I am glad I didn’t spend more. I am sure I could have gotten higher quality lights but for the money these can’t be beat. It’s like daytime around the tractor. I didn’t bother with spots as I am never moving that fast and these are more than bright.

 

A light bar would look good on the under the front of the canopy. Did you upgrade to the alternator?

That is it. You just need a light with a switch.

Definitely stick with Kubota filters during the warranty period. That way if there is an issue they can't try to say you used an inferior filter. The last time I got filters for the tractors I got them at Napa, which are Wix filters. Napa had a filter sale and they were priced really good. Wix filters are really good filters. This summer I serviced a BX24 and the cheapest place to get filters was the dealer. Our cost was a bit higher on all the filters at the auto parts stores. In the future I'll be using Kubota filters.

I use Valvoline premium blue engine oil. It meets the CJ4 spec for the tractors plus it meet Volvo, Cat, Mack, Perkins and a bunch of other big diesel engines manufacturers specs.

For the hydraulic oil I stick with the Kubota SUDT2, which is synthetic. There is not any fluid in the US that meets that spec. You can buy some cheaper fluid at the farm store SUDT spec, and it may have a little a dirt in the bottom of the bucket.

For the front axle, I use bulk 80-90 gear oil, from a 5 gallon bucket. The oil we currently have is Napa brand, which is made by Ashland. Ashland refines Valvolines oil and Kubotas. You can also use hydraulic oil in the front axle but IMO that is a waste of money using that expensive oil in the front axle.

Your first service should be at 50hrs. You only need to change the engine oil and the hydro filter. You don't have to change the hydraulic oil.

 

I believe the B is the only tractor in its class with medium range. I wish the BX had medium range and position control.

It is called Regen. Pull over a little harder on the joystick, if it has one.

I just recently picked up these lights for my plow truck. Tons of light, and they are impressively built for the cost!

 

These look to be the exact same ones as the Safego I have.

 

I'm sure there's a thousand different companies selling the exact same Chinese lights. I was just blown away by how nice the construction of them was for $9.50 a piece.
