I got my wife got a chainsaw chain for Christmas this year. Many years ago I gave her a push lawnmower for her birthday, which some thought was an unusual birthday gift.

We have the aluminum version of that one at work...surprising how often it gets used...so glad they sprang for the aluminum one...because the one in your pic there, is "no joke" heavy! :bug:

Built my wife shelves in the storage room this year, I think she likes them better than any gift I've given her!

Worked out pretty good. If I would have built them when I should have (2 years ago when we built the house) I would have never been able to give them as a gift! Win win!

And I gave her a fire extinguisher!

My wife's car needed a very expensive tuneup....it's one of those newerfangled cars where DIY mechanics like me don't have a prayer of getting the job done right. The stealership (oops, dealership) charges an arm and a leg for parts. So, I did some online shopping and got all OEM parts for $470 whereas the dealership wanted $1600. Auto parts under tree on Christmas morning, how romantic! The service manager was gabberflasted because when I said we have the parts, they immediately shot back, "Sorry, we only install genuine Lexus parts". I handed him the box with all the parts in it and the look on his face was priceless...

I gave Mrs TD a twenty year old set of Gear Wrenches for Christmas this year.
    She loves them!

She bought herself 1/4 and 3/8 drive Craftsman socket sets for $10 each on sale at Ace for Christmas this year also.

    She wants a wood lathe.
And wants to start building custom cabinets...who am I to argue?
