Running low enough on the wood supply...that the last few weeks have been dedicated for cutting some dead standing trees . I tell ya what....with the nice breezy weather we have been having..this stuff is ready to be mixed in quick after a little drying time . It works..keeps us warm AND.........its a good way to do some forest management !! Only the little Echo CS-271T was used today..nice and light Big thanx to my Dad for lending out the RTV...what a nice machine !
You're about my son's age. If your Dad is anything like me, he loves having you use his gear… as much as you like using it! Yessir, that's a sweet ride… and load.
I've been doing the same thing. I started dipping into next years wood but it isn't quite ready so I started cutting up some deadwood that I have back in the woods.

That stuff looks pretty dry already. Nice load.......and the RTV is perfect for getting where the wood is, then back out again........full. I see Maple and , uh, Maple. I'm not as good at id's as others.
Very nice looking wood! It looks pretty dry to me too. Doesn't that 4 X 4 work nice for getting in the wood?
Nice haul! How do you like the 271? I was doing some heavy fondling on one at Rural King yesterday, I thought they might have kicked me out! Oh well, at least they got some good security footage of it Love the UTV too.
Thanks !! Stuff is pretty dry indeed . Still a little ice inside some of those big old cracks though !! No biggie..just a little popping in the stove ! A few days drying in this nice weather up here...and its all good And yes,,,that machine is the way to go
The 271 is very nice for me . Super light..and enough power for its intended purpose . It gets used way more than I ever thought because of how handy it is ! Totally different animal after I did the muffler mod...and pryed out the stupid carb adjustment limiter caps It literally starts easier..and runs 100% better ! Actually had 2 of them for a particular job I had on my property . Sold the other one a while ago . If I still had it..Id send it your way !
Nice Haul. Its not ideal, but it's a load off the mind to find a score like that to get you through. We had to do the same thing with a dead standing Mulberry. It was like finding 100 bucks on the street.
I see a lot of soft maple but don't spot any beech there. That young soft maple can be deceiving in how it looks.
