Sunny, blue sky, and light winds summed up today with a high of 73. The old man neighbor got a load of Oak and hackleberry delivered last week. He used the bobcat to spread out for me this morning. Then this afternoon I took my two new toys over there, 046 and the 660 with the 20" bar & 32" bar attached. It took like two hours to do these with my new equipment. Which would have taken me a lot longer before with my old equipment. This really opened my eyes on the time savings from bumping up to higher power equipment. Plus watching the chips fly is quite awesome. . Had a wonderful afternoon, I'm still SMILIN' ....

Looks like a nice load of wood there. I've often mused about getting some bigger saws but for the 3-4 days a year that I process wood in an industrial fashion I can't justify the expense. My trusty 029 has done me well for almost 20 years. It was the smaller saw that I could justify. Having a saw that I could carry with one arm and not drag the nose of the bar on the ground made all the difference for clearing trails at my camp.
Yep, tomorrow will be back down to 30's, with a possibilty of snow flurries....... Then back to 55 on Monday..
Yep, I had a 290 for about 7 years first saw I ever bought. But with scrounging for my wood, I needed to up my ante' a bit. It's not for everybody. But for me it's fits the bill.

I spent an hour or so splitting and stacking yesterday, too. I've scrounged some pine cut from the pond banks at work. Didn't realize it was a gnarly as it was, but I did pick up some wedges from Home Depot once I got down to the ugly pieces. I think I'll have close to a cord when it's all done. Had some help, though.
Spent the afternoon cleaning driveways. The weather has been crazy for the last few days... Snow mostly melted, rain, freezing rain, dark clouds, then super bright sun,... Blizzard last night with 4-5" of snow. Temps from 5* to 50*... Near impossible to plan anything. Was a mess to clean, I should have done it first thing in the morning but this weather KILLS my back and I had to wait till my meds kicked in. The areas in the sun it turned to almost slush, but elsewhere it was powder. They plowed the road in the morning and it was a muddy mess (dirt road) Even with the warm sun It was cold enough (mid 20s) for the slush to freeze in the snowblower and clog it all up, making it almost useless. Now down to 3* Makes heating a challenge!
Well trained and good looking dog you've got there. I like your take on the wood rack there. Every scrounge is a victory for the stove.
