It wasn't easy this morning. 1.5 hours worth of work took about 3 hours with all the commotion in the house. Phone is dead though, and I think they may have closed my office in NJ early without bothering to let us know they'e gone.
Got a few things taken care of for wife today. Laundry done. Horses fed and watered. Hay thrown down to replace ground stack. Then brought more hardwood and softwood into basement. Then cleaned basement up. This evening to consist of running daughter to and from dancing lesson. Cleaning and organizing garage and workbench while listening to some tunes. Relaxing with one cold one and watching a little bit of TV.
And the Blizzard has started! Oh my definition of blizzard is the snow and wind is strong enough visibility is measured in yards!
Yep, they closed up early, but didn't bother to let us know. The wind is a pretty constant howl out there, but oddly, it's not hitting my property much. The prevailing wind off the pond usually batters my neighbors 100 yards down the road worse than me. Neighbors flag on the water 3 houses down is quite stiff in thewind, yet the remaiming leaves on the oak in front of my house are barely fluttering.
Woodstove keeps us warm, Kubota started going out to open drive before dark. They guessed 3 to 6 inches of snow already got 8 soo off to blow I go. Crock pot and coffee pot are warming. Be safe everyone.
4 inches of snow and ice pellets, maybe a little freezing rain overnight....if you trudt forecasts.....then going to about 47* tomorrow and rain. Reasonable I guess, but real high winds..... over 60 mph maybe......we got a tanker on the way from NS....crews gonna have a rough ride tonight.
There's a region on our west coast we call the wreckhouse......guess why.......calling for winds over 110 MPH out there .........eeeeeeekkkkk.
Mmmm hmmm. No semis going anywhere tonight I imagine. The ferries are shut down and staying in port. Probably a good move.
I see the weather guessers/media have a new weather buzz word for this storm that they are all tossing around, and acting like it will be the end of human habitation of the east coast... "Bomb Cyclone" Every time the news comes on the last couple days...bomb cyclone is coming! Bomb cyclone is coming! Hey, have you heard? A bomb cyclone is coming! (I think back in the day they just called 'em "nor'easters") But on a positive note...I haven't heard anybody tossing around "polar vortex" lately!
In Michigan, we just get snow. It never gets a special name. Not sure if this made the news or not 28" overnight
