Got Judy a pair of heated gloves today. They are charging right now. She has a terrible problem every year when it turns cold, her fingers just split open badly. It is not like the normal splits as those can be taken care of with pure lanolin. We still use the lanolin but they keep on cracking; I mean really splitting open bad. Nothing the doctors can do for it either and she does go to a skin doctor but no can help.

Has she tried Bag Balm? I find this is the only thing that helps me. a bit greasy, but if you doctor it up with some melted beeswax, it is better.

Oh yes, Sue, we've used bag balm for many, many moons here. Remember, we were both born and raised on dairy farms. Have you ever tried pure lanolin? It works much better but it does tend to be like stiff axle grease so one needs to put it on then cover it with a bandaid.

Yeah, dad used to buy the Squibb Lanolin in a tube, we would put a dab on our palm, then add a little water--it felt like that mucilage stuff we used to use in school. And I swear we smelled like sheep...

I know a guy that makes his own homemade hand cream and it's the best stuff that I've ever used.:dex: He is a beekeeper and makes it from beeswax. He left for Florida for the winter but will be back in the spring. If you like I could see if he has anymore and I could see if his son may be able to run over to his house and get some. Send me a PM and let me know!:D

Dennis. Has Judy ever tried putting on lotion and wearing rubber/surgical gloves to bed?
Also, I have put on rubber gloves under work gloves when out in the cold
