27F here, storm well underway, drifts make it tough to tell but I would guess 10" on the ground now and white- out conditions. Just got back from a little road trip and would not have made it in 2 wheel drive car.

    As always, 12" to a foot..... :)

Just loaded the stove and the worst part is that my trailer full of firewood is covered with about 3" of snow..... and it is under the porch roof, 10' deep by 26' wide and right up against the house. The snow is going sideways out there.

Charleston SC has 5 inches of snow over freezing rain. "All roads are closed and if police see you out you will be stopped and questioned "

Just for the record I don't live in chatleston. Grew up there. I live in the upstate. Still have family and friends there.

It is funny watching them though go through this. I have lived in the upstate for 15 years or so. It's not commoney to get 6 inches of snow here but we have gotten it once since I been up here. Usually get a dusting to an inch every year and 3 inches every few. We have had some warm winters lately though. People up here freak out as well but just not to the degree that it seems to happen down there. They dont have plows or sand or brine trucks like evendors we do. I am puzzled and winsering if we sent our trucks down to help as we have no snow not none in the forecast? They have to plow the main roads for emerge Cy personnell?

switched to snow a while ago and the power has gone out a half a dozen times now.
Got tired of listening to the laser printer going thru its initialization procedures so unplugged it.

wind has shifted from NE to N so the center must be more east than south of us
NW and the cold starts back again. Sometimes we don't get snow until now.

Still burning red oak. 72 degrees inside.

Yes, sometimes during summer we even get the odd frost at night, that gets a bit extreme after a hot day. I like it when it cools of at night, I open up the house to cool it down and the thermal mass of the bricks keep it cool for the next day. But alas it doesn't always cool off at night, I remember one particular night a couple of years ago when it was still 110 degrees outside at 3am. I was talking on the telephone to a girl in Lincoln Nebraska and there was a 100 degree temperature difference between us. I don't get much sleep when it's hot at night!

Stay safe up there guys and girls.
