Was able to get out and cut some wood today. Sugar maple about 20" in diameter at the bottom. Dad ran the splitter while i cut the top out. It had tons of limbs in the top. It was about 5F when we started cutting and ended up at around 12F. The sun was out for awhile which made it seem warmer. My xmas present made it in one picture, a 24" light bar. Two pics of me felling the tree, one when its on the way down. A good day! WOODCUTTING TODAY 2.png WOODCUTTING TODAY 3.png WOODCUTTING TODAY.jpg

A couple more pics. My trusty 361 with a 18" bar along with my helmet and a side shot of the maple after we had half of it cut and split.

Thanks, seems like it always goes faster when its cold out, dont have to take as many breaks to cool off.

Not bad for 5 to 12 degrees out. Some nice saws and the splitter is pretty handy with the tractor.

I also run a Stihl 361 with 18" bar. Seems to be a great combo. Like the splitter and I tractor also. Nice pictures, great job getting some wood done

You sir, and your father, are a better man than I! I'm not going out there until it hits at least 30° and at this rate that may not be until the ides of March!

361 is my weapon of choice as well. 20” bar with half skip makes quick work.

I have no expectation that this will last
    Might be our “January thaw”

    It usually
Happens just before we head to the below 0°F
    Temps.

But gonna enjoy it will it lasts

Yep i have ran that saw since 2005. It was my only saw when i was on a 1 saw plan. Then about 3 years ago, i picked up a 261C and two years ago i picked up a 441C. The old 361 still runs great.
