Single digits 1°, post’m

Currently sitting @ -13 F right now. Supposed to warm up to a balmy -3 F later today......................My 3 y/o Oak is doing a awesome job in both stoves, keeping the cave in the mid to upper 70's around the clock.

 

Feel lucky down here in the "banana belt" as it's currently only -9 F. Calling for a high of 5 F before dropping back down into the -5 F range later tonight.

Lots of outdoor New Years Eve festivities have been canceled this year.

 

Hey, a Dakotan! I've been waiting to use this!

 

We had a regular temp of -20 this morning, more Beech and Oak in the Liberty.

 

Starting on Tuesday we get some warmer temps but until then we still have some pretty good wind chills.

 

That is hilarious! As near as I have figured out there are 3 of us from Dakota Territory. Loco Engineer and I from the Northland, I have not met him but he lives about an hour south of me. And Dakota Hoarder is in the Southern territory about a 6 hour drive from me, you know way down in the tropics probably sun bathing in the balmy negative teens, lucky dogs

 

never seen that before!

 

No tropics here! The HIGH today is about -12. Actually wasn't that bad because there's no wind. Was out for about an hour moving snow and bringing wood in and I didn't freeze to death.

The insert is running full blast all day long and struggling to keep up. I literally have to throw a couple splits in every half hour!

Made it up to -2 earlier this afternoon, currently -6 on the way down to -21 tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be colder than today and then SOME temp relief starting Tuesday.

You know something ain’t right when it is 15 degrees warmer in Alaska than western NY! Probably related to the whole hell freezing over/Bills making the playoffs craziness that happened yesterday.
