-22c/-7f. Im burning doug fir this morning. Its nice to be home tending the wood stove again. We had about 6-8 inches of light snow overnight and it continues to come down at a good rate. I will replace the shear pin in the snow blower in a bit and then head off to the next town to do a bit of work.
I was thinking I saved a fair amount of wood being away the last 8 days considering how cold it was here. That being said Im sure Ill see a bit of an uptick in natural gas usage with the furnace keeping the house at 15c. 15-20 cords is some serious wood man!
I love Madison. It's a great city. But yeah, if he's from the south, there will be a temperature adjustment. It's abnormally cold now though, even for our Wisconsin standards. For this time of year at least.
-10 now. Almost to our high for the day at -7. Looks like I shouldn't be complaining looking at Rope's temps! House is a cozy 74 in the main living area thanks to the Sun! Might have to make an afternoon ugly load to push the overnight load to a little later. That should help combat the -18 predicted for the we morning hours tomorrow.
I love Accuweather.....ok, no I don't. However, I've begun to learn to accept the goofiness from them. Sort of, ........maybe. So, forecast for today WAS 12, then changed to 11. It's now back to 12, but the actual temp is 13. I fully expect the forecast to reflect the temp we actually hit sometime this afternoon. It would be easier for them to just wait to see what temp we hit, then report that.......or, get a weather rock. Ok, carry on.
Below zero temps you can keep them . 12°F-11°C here , ash n maple in the box , stove room 82 °F They say -4 °F tonight
Well, well, well. I guess the temp musta hit 15 at some point when I wasn't looking, and guess what Accuweather did? Yep, they changed the forecast high to 15. Sure does help their stats........"we have 100% accuracy".
Well, we will see how long this lasts, I would put more in the buggy but I'm not sure I could pull it up the ramp onto the deck
they said hi 15 here today didn't make it only 13, 10 now Dammit! they changed the Low from -4 °F to -7 °F who knows how low it will go
Remember how mild the temperatures were this fall? December’s temperatures and wood usage is starting to make up for it.
Started out at -10*F warmed up to 16*F got 24hrs from last nights load of Maple loaded the OWB with more of the same.
