I believe that proper maintenance (monthly clean out and pipe checks) and better burning should reveal this year if there is an issue with the 90's.
As mentioned last year was our first year and besides the limb wood and multiple small fires there were a couple 'burns' where the wood just didn't want to ignite... obviously wet. We did discover last year that even though the bulk of our wood was stored undercover that bringing it indoors and letting it 'cure' inside for a day seemed to make a noticeable difference.

Horkn and I have discussed him possibly stopping by if our schedules jive.

Currently I will be getting a moisture meter and the in-cat thermometer coupled with our new found knowledge of better burning practices which should reveal if we are ok as is or need to make adjustments to the pipe run.

stumplifter glad your being safe, not trying to be an Internet nanny, you have a good stove. I like mine, one thing I do is everything every 4 to 6 weeks I clean the fly ash off sled, cat and areas above firebox and below stove top.

I cleaned (brushed) my flue for the first time this year. This is my fifth year burning and only got about a half gallon of fly ash. I can easily look up my flue with a mirror.

The stove connections were removed and vacuumed each year and I got about half gallon of flaky creosote each year.

Burning good dry wood should give you the same results

No problem with being nannyish, I read that as being concerned and appreciate the compassion. The harsh truth here is that I was a first year wood burning dummy and didn't check our system once during our first season.

I now have a beacon of forum members to guide me and am grateful.

    Thanks to all!
