Headed for wrong side of 0 tonight with a stiff breeze. Stove full of hedge and locust, set to max chooch.
Aunts and uncles was a sheet of glass. Real sketchy driving. Unfortunately neither of them was home. Poor old 76 chev
Sitting @ -2 f right now, headed for -17 F overnight with a wind chill of -27. Both stoves cruising on 3 y/o Oak and the cave is a comfortable 76. We good...................................
The cold is still here, -27 feel outside with a -9 temp. That will drop now with a clear sky and nightfall in full swing. The OWB will get fired up nice more for overnight and the kicker stove has been burning since yesterday releasing the stored BTU's form the hardwood I hauled to the garage last fall. Ash, maple, occasional oak for the most part. The "Dave Cave" is at 65!
Mornin' Hoarders, well it did make it to -17 F and with the NW wind we have a w/c of -26. Both stoves had good coal beds so the restart was quick and easy. 71 in the cave right now. Coffee going done awesomely. Everybody stay warm and safe today. Looks like we get to enjoy this weather well into next week.
That's the Dodge from national Lampoon's Christmas vacation. Which is the exact same truck as in the original " Overboard" with Kurt Douglas and Goldie Hawn.
