All 6 dogs in one picture. No easy feat. The little guy on the piloow in the lower right is a little tough to see. He's mostly under the covers. 6988.jpeg

Lucy was our first dog and set the bar REALLY high for the other dogs that followed. She was incredible, she could hear the sound of a banana being peeled two rooms away!

Bogieb, if you want to get rid of the fleas you may want to start a program. I have used this ever since it came out nearly 20 years ago. I don't like chemicals that harm dogs and cats and most of the other products do in some form. It used to be marketed as "Program" the active ingredient is Lufenuron. The way it works is by "neutering" the fleas. Their eggs cannot hatch, they can't reproduce. It has no side effects on mammals at all and can even be used for humans. Mammals don't metabolize it, it only works on the insects.
I never have to use chemicals on the cats but it takes awhile to get all the pesky critters under control and during that time i used "Capstar" active ingredient is Nitenpyram in addition once a week. Nitenpyram kills adult fleas short term. These meds come in capsules and it depends on you how to administer them. I open them and stir it into wet cat food but some cats are too picky and those get the capsules down their hatch.
The cheapest way to buy is at "Littlecitydogs.com" , I get the 100 count bottles it's a lot cheaper. I use it for the dogs as well. Unfortunately it doesn't work for the ticks.
To go even cheaper i always buy the large dog caps and then divide according to weight.
    Hope it helps.

We always used it on our dogs but we can't get it in Canada anymore. We use Revolution and it is hard on the skin for the first day of application. I think it must burn a bit.

If you google lufenuron there should be some that comes up in Canada too. It may be marketed for people. It's cheapest if you can buy larger quantities. It's especially good when you have a bunch of animals, it's ends up ebing so much cheaper and healthier. I still use Advantix on the dogs in Spring because the ticks get so bad in the woods and Max brings them back.
All of the topical stuff hurts their skin. One of my dogs had a very bad skin reaction to Frontline. When i used advantage on cats there were always some ending up with raw areas. It is unfair to them.

We’re watching a yellow lab puppy who is keeping the Shepard puppy busy this week. You’d think they were killing each other at times the way they go at it but they are always wagging their tails. This was the first time I saw them lying down calm together.

Both of them are destined to be guide dogs.
