i had 500 shotgun shells.decoys.shooting clothes, socks.beer for tonight.and lots more, so how did you do.
I got a hookaroon to help support my new wood hoarding habit and I also got an electric smoker! I’m so excited to use it!
I got a swell case of the intestinal "bug" and a chance to clear the driveway and yard of last nights snow using my new tractor and snow blower..................
I got to go to work for 12 hours, and then I get to go home and snowblow the place out for a couple more hours.
A smaller bank account....oh and an aching back from shoveling. Wife and I have put a moritorium on gifts. Times are still a bit tight with a single salary. Kids made out like bandits though!
Wife had a few pictures printed from our wedding, wrapped them up in frames abd gave them to me for Christmas. Along with 2 new pairs of shoes, beard grooming kit and some scratch off lottery tickets.
Wife got a new set of hakka 7 studded snows, a few bottles of her favorite wine and cooking spices (OK snows were put on 3 weeks ago with first blizzard. I got a few pair of fleece lined jeans and a bottle of bourbon..
Amazon fire stick, 13/64 and 5/32 PFERD file guide, laptop cooling fan and two Dillon powder measurers so I don't have to adjust them when swapping calibers on the 550B. I'll admit, I'm tough to buy for. If there is something I want or need, I generally just get it. Wife has learned to listen to me mumble during tasks throughout the year and gets some good ideas.
Got a gift card for a fly fishing rod and couple lessons since I now live near some renowned trout fishing. Looking forward to learning the art of fly fishing! I also got a huge dose of satisfaction from watching the kids get excited about their gifts. What really made me happy though, was my kids voluntarily go through their stuff and pull out a big box each worth of toys and stuffed animals to donate for kids that wouldn't otherwise have a good Christmas. I'm proud of them. I hope you all had a very good Christmas with family and friends!
Man, a good pair of socks can make all the difference in the world between comfort and misery. Many happy dry, warm days ahead of you!
Socks! My brother is an excavating contractor, cuts wood, loves to hunt-he has the same outdoor life style most of us on this forum have-only more of it. Never have been able to convince him to wear good socks-just those darn white tune socks! Fixed him this year with several pair of Smartwool socks in various weights for his Christmas present.
Lol. I like it though. "Hey this coffee tastes like chit!". Exactly. I got some gooder stuff for Christmas. A fiskars hookaroon Dickies insulated water resistant work bibs Oxford grip heaters for my ATV Felling wedges An LED head lamp And a Bluetooth speaker for music on the go. My wife also have be a new pair of gloves as my last pair wire through the fingers. It was 7 degrees with a nasty wind adding to the cold earlier and I moved more loads of wood from my driveway stack down to the stacks by the shed. The insulated bibs are very warm, and the hookaroon works well, even in locust. I'll have to hook up the heated grips on the bayou, but all of these things will help me make firewood in winter, when I like to cut wood.
