I've had good luck w/ the Wolverine boots here G, look very similar to the KEEN boots you have, also wore Merrells for years, same deal w/ the soles, and noticed the same w/ quality.

Like the Sorel pac boots here, warm as heck, but the outer shell covering has separated from the inner core, and is dry cracked - I don't expect boots to last forever, but really? They're literally falling apart. The Sorel's weren't cheap boots either, like $160.00, on sale, not too long ago. I should just wrap some rags around them, and pretend I'm marching in the Revolutionary war. :picard: Time for those boots to take a hike. :salute:

    $10 is a stretch!!

I mostly wear casual boots for my daily footwear. All made in USA. Chippewa/Wolverine/Redwing. They all last forever and are comfy as heck.
I have a pair of Timberlands for bad weather, they are made in China. Quality is actually pretty good with them. Not as good as my last pair (no idea where they were made).

I have cleats for outside and a heated garage for inside. I try to stay inside when it is slippery going outside.

ETA: I haven't checked what it is doing outside and don't plan on. Drew a tub full of flushing water. Have tons of spring water to drink.

Agreed. My low cut breathable summer hikers that I wear daily for 3 of the seasons are Merrill. 2 seasons and the sole is shot.

Need a new pair for next year but as I get older, it seems my feet are harder to find what's comfortable. The days of almost anything goes are over :(

So long as that isn't an isolated reading, That too has to be addressed. Drink a good strong cup of coffee, That should help. I can't find a sweet spot for my bp med. Either too high, or way too high. Works good for about 3 hrs, then jumps back up. He wants to jack up the meds some more, but the side effects are too much for me. Can't live in a fog and get anything done.

Buy you boots from LLBean. Should they fail you, you can return them for a replacement. A few bucks more in the beginning, but really worth it if you want something that will be replaced should it fail you. I have several things from Beans. Happy with them. Have returned just a few. Never a problem. I won't return something that I wore out with normal use.

It was in the upper 50's here the last couple of days but that is above normal for sure. Now that I will be traveling it has dropped to a cold, cold rain with a mix to come and snow. The forecasts are all over the charts so we shall see....... Some calling for an accumulating snow and others for little snow. We have tons of moisture and are at the freezing point almost. Either way it'll be a mess driving and mingling with the other motorist morons. damm hill billies can't drive in the snow.

Then you have the pumped up soccer moms and guidos that think because they have 4WD or AWD they can roll at break neck speeds....... Big fun! People start wrecking when they hear the words "snow flurries" around here. Hell, If it hasn't rained in awhile and it's July they start fender bending sports.

    Great advice!
The only Bean around here is an outlet in Hampton. Never found what I liked there but I keep checking. I have to get to the Freeport store. Dont want to order online as I really need to try on boots these days.

One thing that really burns me with Merrell is that they are using cloth eyelet loops for the laces and I have had the top ones break way before the rest of the boot is worn. I now refuse to buy any boot that uses that kind of eyelet.

That is one heck of a good savings. Like not having meat that gets freezer burned. I have used one for years. Replaced it two or three times. Bags are costly, but so is a good cut of meat.

Now that isn't just an isolated reading and it is why the ccb is now on its way back to 2.5mg and why I want it gone. Its half life is very close to 50 hours in me which means very little goes a long long way for me. Wrong med to tinker with. Sounds like your beta blocker is on the short side in its half life, just like mine was.

ETA: The docs are truly experimenting with this stuff still after decades with a lot of it.

How come every time I see one of these pics, it looks like some kid I went to High School with ? Dunno. :loco:

Once you find one that fits, order the others over the phone or on line. Saves a lot on gas. I too like Merrell shoes. Now that I know how they fit, I order them on line. Duluth trading has a good line of footwear.

I dont use the bags, I get the rolls when they are on sale. That way I can make just the size I need big or small. Some have issues with the rolls losing the seal but I have found that if you do a double seal cycle when making the bag and also when doing the vac seal it works much better.

I have also found I get better results by putting the meat in the bag, folding the end over and put in the freezer for 20-30 minutes and then vac sealing. The partial freeze seems to help a lot but dont leave it in long enough to get ice crystals forming.

I get the ones that are really wide. Like eeee when I can find them. Then I put orthotics in them. I can't stand shoes or boots that are heavy. Also wear those socks that are merino wool.

Careful on the Merrell online order. Seems the last few generations have narrowed the toe area and that is giving me an issue too as well as quality. Sales rep at a local shoe store that sells Merrell confirmed this. Too bad as they have always been so comfortable for me in the past.

edit-I see you buy the wide ones . Ive tried those and they are too loose on me

About 8 years ago, I was told that Merrell was sold an now made by a big multi brand company and that quality was starting to suffer.
