My recently bought computer acted up. It is a desk top with most all the new horns and whistles. It started burping and farting and then wouldn't let me into Windows. The automatic fix didn't work. Couldn't do a safe mode boot. Took it to best buy to the Geek squad. $200 that includes one year warranty. Any hardware will be extra. Everything is backed up so I don't think I'll lose anything important. I'll get it back Wednesday.

If the tag on the heel says "UGGS Australia", they are Chinese knockoffs. Real ones just say "UGGS". This came directly from a woman I know who is from Australia......they consider them crap down under.

Yeah, that was my thinking. Got about 2" over night. Also, the town scraper came thru late last night (woke me up). Yep, got another berm at the end of the driveway. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate the people that clean up the roads - I just want them to make it more convenient for my clean up procedure :D

In my experience boots will get a couple marks on them during the shipping process. No big deal though

Now that its getting light outside, I have maybe and inch on the front stairs, so not as much as I thought was going to fall overnight. Hopefully its enough to absorb a bit of freezing rain and not ice up.

Now comes the tricky part of deciding when the right time is to go out later today and clean. Need the freezing rain done and warm enough to finish washing off whats left behind. One thing is for sure it will be raining while doing the job

    Dont we all....

Yup, the '08 Taurus and my '00 Sportage last month,
Betsy's '00 Sportage and the parts '01 Sportage this past Thursday.

Still cleaning up the end of the driveway / side yard of the latest post-car removal debris, but looking much better out there.

(A few more passes w/ the magnet to ensure all bolts, etc. are gone & we're good to go for parking and sn*wblowing.)

And Sn*w has a way of making everything nice & pretty. ...
Whatever's left, may have to wait until Spring thaw. Or until the Boss sees it.. Else.. :heidi: ==

getting the Trailer hitch installed on the '96 Camry this weekend, for pellet (& other stuff) hauling is quickly becoming a priority.

It was real light sn*w when I went to bed, This morning there's a thin coating of the 3 letter word......... Luckily I have a stash of melt in the cellah, And some paw friendly stuff for the deck. Scattered some before the doggie did the slip and slide down the stairs.

Hopefully it warms today to melt this crap!!

The 'burping and farting' is usually a tell-tale sign: the hard drive is crapping out. (Along w/ the automatic fix / safe boot not working.)

Hope the repair cost is minor Larry. Dunno what brand, etc. the unit is, but Geek Squad may be able to RMA the drive cost (if replaced) w/ the manufacturer - worth asking, worse they can say is "not possible"... Just a thought.

One area is a manufacturing defect and right next to it is a rubbing wear mark.

I dont know anything about uggs except that they are overpriced for my wallet. Whether they are really worth 200 bucks, I have not idea and would not have bought them. But if I had paid that amount you bet your azz they would be going back.

At 200 bucks I am more on what imacman friend down under thinks of them. At 80 bucks- if they hold up, are warm, and waterproof they are not bad.

The style and functionality of this boot looks good. There were a few other similar styles with different belt/buckles that she definitely would have liked but they weren't listed as waterproof and the soles were like skis so not the all weather boot we need around here.

    Current prediction is 4-8"

Anyone buy a big ticket item with the "if we get XX inches of sn*w on Christmas its FREE" deal ?

Hopefully someone is getting a free sofa or something :)

Dunno Rich250 , but I wouldn't be wearing them here today without cleats - went outside and almost took a header, same conditions as PelletHound 's locale.. I should've picked up more sand yesterday. :headbang: Time to get busy.
