    I have no interest in the raffle I’d rather just help with what we can. We don’t do gifts to each other at Christmas we donate to those in need and this fits the bill perfect...

    I hope he can get things back in order. It looks like he has a bunch of good folks helping out in the thread. I sent a donation over, no raffle ticket needed. Helping others in need is part of the holiday season.

    That’s a choice for the consumer if they want to make it a consumerist holiday at their house so be it but I won’t do that at our house.

    We give gifts to others in need every year wether it’s charities or donating food to the shelter whatever we can do to help....

    It’s not a Christmas thing we donate when we can help throughout the year however for those in need at Christmas does take on a special meaning.

    We where incredibly poor for many years and couldn’t even afford the necessary items let alone anything extra even a bottle is of catch-up could be considered extra. That experience has taught us a lot about helping others through hard times and showing love.

    Not many offered us a hand up and for that reason I refuse to turn my back on those who need a hand up.

    We are not what would be considered rich by any means but we have come far enough to occasionally be able to help others. It’s therapeutic to both the giver and receiver....

    For a guy with my experiences in life I will continue to do what I can to help others and give them holiday cheer. We have no need for the consumerist end of it to get the real meaning of Christmas.
