The sky is falling, the world is coming to an end.
Not a danged thing any of us can do about it, so why worry? If I die, it won't matter. If I don't, I'll grab the shovel.

Yup! The weather advisory is still out there, for "up to an inch of snow by morning"!

99 just watched the forecast and asked what the advisory is for???? Exactly....

21 at the moment with 15-20 mph winds. Headed for 6 overnight apparently. Have the IS chucked plum full of red oak and maybe a chunk of and dialed in for some warm burning!

They must think they are forecasting for down south, You know, those places where they shut the town down for an inch or 2 of snow.:hair:

26ºF outside right now, supposed to be 50ºF tomorrow and rain, but then the cold returns.

Brought up some 4 year white oak Sunday to fill the bin by the door.
Wow is this ever cold weather wood. Only filling the stove half way and it's 74F in the room above the stove.

Hemlock and ash for overnight. Bark fell off the ash as I was loading the wheelbarrow and sadly I discovered eab galleries underneath. Tree came from about ten miles away as the crow (or beetle) flies. Very sad - ash is one of the main hardwood species we have here. Going to be some very odd looking patches around here in a few years. I wonder if this will allow the red oak to come back to strength? I'm told by the old folks that there used to be a ton of it around here.

95% walnut and one maple split that was in quick reach and able to fill that gap I had lol.

Only high 30's tonight and potentially getting warmer overnight with high 40's expected tomorrow with a quick warm front then back to classic md winter temps... 20's night/30's during day for a while. Time to start shuffling some oak in the mix soon.

Temp has dropped to -5 C (23? F) for now, and the shack is cool. Started butchering a deer so I keep it chilly while I'm cutting.

    Yep, I agree with that.

Now get on with it and TELL me WHAT to do??? [emoticon of me biting my fingernails down to the knuckle here]

All the forecasting around here changed after the Blizzard of '78. We were supposed to get snow, honestly I do not remember how much, but it was not a big deal. But the storm stalled over us and dumped 54" on an area where a foot is a big deal and 18" of snowfall is downright impressive. So forever after that, whenever a snow flake <may> appear w/in a 40 hour drive, they predict 2" to 200".

And as always, 12" to a foot.
