Saw the surgeon today. Have had 2 cat scans this week and they both look good. Removed the staples (and there were many) plus removed the drain tube. There were lots and lots of drainage when he pulled it out so some had backed up. Feels good to have it out. Good news is that trip to Henry Ford hospital is off as for now it appears all should be well. Another cat scan scheduled for next week. Continue antibiotics. Rest. I'm happy. We did learn more about what happened and it is a bit scary. As it turns out I am a very lucky man to be here today as there was little between me an death before and during surgery. Won't go into much detail just to say it was close. They are happy to see me in the office even if I were ornery, although I'll leave that to my wife. My son and his wife were with me at the appointment and with her being an RN he went into more detail. That helped. Anyway, I'm still tired, but alive.
Get Well my friend. I know 17' has been a rough year for you. The MAN up above obviously has a better plan for you.
Alive and happy! I am grateful for that. I bet you're a lot more comfortable with the staples and tubes out.
That's cool ,ya got your zipper and baggy removed Take your vitamins , rest and recover Dennis . Keep the fire burnin
Great news Dennis, both that you are on the mend and that there is no further surgery needed! Brian P.S. Phoebe is going in for her second 'cat scan' on Monday also- I expect everything to be fine as long as she is not pregnant.....
Glad to hear this Sav. Rest. When you can, walk around inside the house a bit. Stay away from any of that slippery stuff outside. If you need some fresh air, open a window a little and let it in the house. Feels good. And Mrs. Savage can always throw another split on the fire. Movement will be good when your body is ready for it.
I haven't commented on any of these threads Backwoods but followed every one and this is good news indeed. I must say it makes me feel good.
Get well soon Mr. Savage.Glad to hear all is well.Dad still havin pretty rough time......but hangin there. LogChain
