I called my saw a rattle box in my review and was told it was an "unfair review".

Perhaps, but I never had the bar nuts rattle off on my other saws, Stihl or Husky, after 2 months of use. It is so bad on this saw that they actually have keeper lugs on the bar nuts so they don't get lost, and twice in 2 month now, I have had to replace one of the bar nuts despite this feature.

Today the top handle hand blew out on me. I was cutting some big spruce and was limbing one out...first twitch of course...and was like 'man this suspension is loose'. I know its got a better suspension than the Stihl, but this was excessive. It was; pretty hard when three point contact was only two. I finished the twitch, but even for me, in the name of safety, I could not continue and had to stop and fix my saw...not what I wanted to do with rain coming in tomorrow.

I looked through my former Husky's in trying to fix it, but their top handle design is different , and naturally the saw shop is closed on Mondays so I had to drill it out and put in my own bolt. I tried to find a Stihl bolt to fit just out of spite, but sadly could not find one, that way I could forever call it a Stihusky 562. For now I will stick with the name "Rattle Saw."

I rattles so bad I have had to replace the bolts twice now that hold the bucking dogs on, and while those three things are it so far (bar nuts twice, bucking dog bolts twice and top handle bolt), it is enough for a 2 month old saw.

The dealer told me it was a disposable saw, so I guess I cannot say I was not warned, but while only a $750 chainsaw, they could at least make it so it does not rattle itself apart.

562 is a "pro" saw. Not one of the throw-away clamshells.

But like the dealer said, "Disposable. Spend $750 now, run if for a year, trade it in for $300, and then get another saw next year; rinse and repeat."

It's just a saw. If you hate it sell or crush it & move on.

The captive bar nuts are on new stihl models too. So I'd advise avoiding those as well.

Put a set of DIN980's or nylocks on.

Red and blue loctite are your friend...

Cylinder bolts, case bolts don't come loose. So not quite completely... I've only had recoil cover screws loosen. Never lost one in all the Huskys I've owned/own. Some guys are harder on 'em than others I guess.

    Odd...the 2260 hasn't had any fastener issues. I don't consider a 562 a "disposable saw"

My "throw away" clamshell 029super has 17+years on it and it has never been apart. Runs like a top. Just saying....

I'm sure Husqvarna makes great saws, but this one sounds like it's a lemon. Non balanced engine?

I have no issue with the captive bar nuts: I have an issue with a chainsaw that rattles so much it causes screws to fall out. Granted I was not very clear, but on this saw, it rattles so bad even the captive bar nuts are useless because they rattle out (or break) and thus I have to replace them from the dealership. the fact that they have a big bag of them tells a person something!

Just passing a long a tip here...Loctite is very expensive, but fingernail polish has the same chemical makeup and you can buy similar amounts in volume from the dollar store. Anytime a bolt does rattle loose, I put fingernail polish on it which helps.

And no, I am not a Transvestite-Jenner-Logger!! Just want to be clear on that! (LOL)

Just one more thought from an idiot...if that husky dealer isn't taking care of you (and the saw is new with little usage) you need to find another. I had hot start issues with my 562 and 550 but just dealt with it for a bit, I brought them to my dealer and he was downright upset that I didn't bring them back immediately for service or an exchange. "You should not be hindered by our product, if this ever happens again you come right back here and we will make it right" he said.
