I think we used to have them around here, but the early settlers killed them all off. I heard tell they weren't good eating.

We'll see what upstate NY means, for our state gov. it means Syracuse and south.

The National Weather Service's main weather model shows air cold enough to generate lake effect snow moving over Upstate New York the weekend of Dec. 10,

Looks to be pretty snowy here starting Tuesday night calling for 12-24” with 20-30 mph gusts to 45. What ever happened to a bunch of cold days freezing up the ground then easing in with daily snow? Lately it seems we go from summer to blizzard and back to summer! The ground sure isn’t froze and calling for mid upper 40’s the next two days and rain Tuesday changing to snow. Of course the temp drop includes wind always and I absolutely hate wind!!!!!:mad::mad:

Looks like this should be the last week of fall weather here in NH...Starting next week it's below freezing consistently. About time if you ask me...need the ground to freeze up.

I don't think we'll get much snow but here are the winds we might get.

Just checked the forecast here and says up to 18" by Wed.

We'll wait and see, but imagine the pics if it's so! (Cuz, I'll be busy shoveling)

The winds will turn from the south to the northwest by tomorrow am; the temps are going to drop and snow should be here by 4:00.

Temps were close to 60 yesterday. I was able to put in some reflective driveway markers in the afternoon. Ground wasn't frozen yet and I got them in just in time. Temps dropped overnight and will only get to the upper 20's today.

I'm thinking/hoping that the heavy stuff stays south of us, I don't think that I'll put the plow on tonight. I still have some stacking left (pine) and some cleanup around some trails.

How were the winds in your area last night and today? We had some real good gust overnight and today, today I thought some pine tops might get snapped off and last night it sounded like a freight train hit the house.
