Just have a couple of hours not filled in today, so i thought lets do a little splitting.
Its my last “to do splitting pile” next week i am going to dig some more trees out of the snow if i can still reach them!?!?
I wish i have pulled out more before the snow :-(

    Have a nice day all!

I thought we were going to have rain/ice/snow today, but sadly it moved through last night, so I have no excuse NOT to do anything.

My ambition is really low right now because the paper mills are shut down. I got a few loads sitting upon the deck, ready to be trucked, but no place to go too, so there is no huge drive to get more out. I know it is all just money in the bank, but slogging through the mud sucks too.

I am taking the stuck bucket challenge,
How to get stuck buckets apart?. Also give some oak a shave. Maybe cram some stuff in the garden shed, and fill a few bags with leaves as an excuse to go to the dump. Not that I need one.

Well today is my day off, so I got up, made coffee, skyped the family before they got on the plane to head home, got a hair cut, the rest of the night will be spent going for a run and doing some laundry. Maybe Swiffer the floor real quick, but I don't want to over do it.

Do some more work on my shed that I have been building. A couple of barn cats have adopted it for their new home. I will store my generator and smoker and some other things in there.

Simply taking life easy here. Looks like you got some really heavy wet snow. That can be nasty to work in.

Your picture reminds me I have to get what I have left before the snow comes, I like to have everything split and stacked by the time the snow flies just in case its a year when we get a lot. Ill have to wait until tomorrow, too much work today.

We cut a rack full of some kind of hickory, black locust, cherry, and oak. It was all over 24", so each piece had to be cut in half. The first chain on the saw is just about toast. We have a new one, so after the punky oak project my husband will put it on. IMG_20171201_41271.jpg

The snow can make the wooding more difficult. I am hauling hay so the cow herd can be turned out on crop and hay stubble and getting ready for the first day of Iowa firearms deer season that starts tomorrow.

No logging, but I ended up revamping our laundry room around. We have a concrete-on-grade slab so our laundry room is everything, so it meant moving the cold water tank, water heater, replumbing and rewiring everything, then moving the washer and dryer.

Good darn thing I did. Our old arrangement had (5) 90 degree elbows on our propane dryer, and the lint just about plugged one elbow. Can anyone say FIRE! And I thought my wood stove was bad. At least I swamp that out at least every other week. I do my dryer vent once per year, but jeesh. The new arrangement is straight out the wall.
