Picked a closed Poulan dealer

Some of what is still there..

 

The dealership closed and the new saws never sold. According to the owner's son he would not sell if he did not get list price. The saws were scattered between the son's shop, the closed dealership and the deceased owner's basement.

Probably not the big ones, only have one 4400 and none of my Poulans have a full wrap so I will keep that one as well. This is my only 4900, the only other one I had was crushed and I sold it to someone who needed a cylinder rather than try to find all the parts to put it together.

I have the parts to build the 3400 as well as the 4200. It is getting to the point I am out of room and need to let something go. I have several saws unopened in boxes as they are easier to store that way.

Nice old Poulands, ran several of them for years (5200 & 245A) before switching over to J-reds...!

 

I had been working on this deal for 7 months, the fact it was a 9 hour drive had delayed it. I decided to combine my swap meet trip with this one. The fellow who bought my parts had come down to my place in Virginia last September to look at some of my trucks and tractors . Turns out he was also a Poulan dealer and he indicates he has a large crate of saws. If we strike a deal he will load them on his trailer when he comes down for me to look at. Could be a much bigger haul than this.

 

A 5200 is on my list of eventual wants.
