hej hej all, Dont u just love the smell of two stoke fumes and freshly cut wood on a winters day? I know i do!! Have a nice day all
Oh yes I was cutting some oak the other day and fumes just lingered then when it was gone the smell of the oak took over
There's some kind kind of Aspen around here that smells absolutely horrid when it's cut. Other than that, I agree 100% with OP. I love cutting wood when it's cold.
Who said some enterprising couple on here does not already make such a cologne? My wife and I got into it when a lot of people commented on how I smelled after logging. Up to 3 years ago I almost cut softwood exclusively so I smelled like softwood with a wisp of 2 stroke smell mixed in. ... As you guys know, right now I burn cedar as it has been relatively warm out, so when we come home from being away, we get the wonderful scent of the cedar wood that is drying beside the stove.
It’s nice when your in it, but as LodgedTree just said it’s even better when it starts warming up inside
We call it Essence of Lager, putting a little old English spin on the name, but may negatively make people think of beer instead of loggers. I have only been married 3 times, so I am not good with the ladies, but all three said they liked how I smelled after getting out of the woods. It has taken awhile to get the proportions right...not overwhelmed so it smells like I snuggled up next to a spruce, and yet neither so much that it smelt like I got too lovey-dovey with a chainsaw either. I have been testing it out at church, but when it was too strong I often heard, "been cutting wood this morning?" Naturally I wanted half the woman-folk in church to be pining for me. If I could get that to happen, then I would really have a product. That would mean I would do well at the bar...the fact that I am married and never drink notwithstanding! ... As for me being married 3 times. One could make the point that i was enough of a catch to send them to a bridal shop and then down the aisle, though not much an be said for the two that kicked me to the curb. Myself, I would just like to think that when the ladies hear I am available, they come running. I have been steady-wed for 23 years now...never missed a year, just changed wives mid-way through! Of course with all my logging battle scars now, maybe I do need cologne to aide in my endeavor should I ever need a 4th wife.
I heard a radio story a few years back about the small businesses people had started in one small town. One of them was cologne that smelled like manly activities. One of them was 2-stroke exhaust. I think A couple others were pine and gun smoke.
My oldest daughter loves the scent I have when I get in. she digs into my pockets and takes out the "man glitter"
