    We used one of those back in the mid 1980's when I was working as a caretaker at our college field station working the sugar maple grove there. Sure made tapping trees easier.

    Starting in early '50's McCulloch had auger attachments for a couple of their different sized gear-drive models.Boring either earth or wood depending on what bits you used.Holes up to 8"-12" for fence posts,footings etc.The gear drive models were sold until the early-mid '70's.

    Y'all do realize they make actual gas powered drills and such right? Stihl BT45 is one. It's actually a pretty nice unit if you have a need for something like that.

    Yup, I'm just a bit nostalgic. I have a generator, 2,000 watt power inverter, & cordless drills to meat my needs.
