I usually do a fairly good cleaning of the stove weekly; pull the fake logs, burnpot, pot liner, auger...all that fun stuff. This is a more involved clean which I usually do twice a season. Service rails were the best money I spent to help facilitate the cleaning. I can't recommend them enough. Long story short, pulled the stove, blocked off the exhaust opening on the liner coupling, cleaned the liner topside from the roof with a soot eater, cleaned the exhaust temp sensor, took a random pic of the damper, vac'd out the back side of the stove and did a normal weekly cleaning. Oh, and my ladder to the roof blew down twice due to the wind. Thankfully, I was on the ground both times. Pics, because we love pics! Exhaust temp sensor. It's silver behind all that dust/ash Damper: All done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Purdy stove skier!! Dig the bear in the glasses.......... Nice tutorial on the cleaning too..........
Thanks guys! I feel that keeping the stove clean keeps it happy and running well. Plus, gives a good opportunity to give things a once over. And you certainly get a better understanding of how it works the more you work on it. The bear approves! He high fived me for a job well done!
That's "Cool Dude" bear! He actually encouraged me to get a frosty beverage once the job was done and the stove was running again.
