Yeah, went to the Carle Spine Institute in Urbana IL this morning for an appointment with a spine specialist.
Same one i met with back in 2011 right after i had my accident.

I guess back then things werent bad enough to do anything about, other then to go through with physical
therapy. Which i did, and ended up stopping my self from going after 19 months as the progress and advancements
    had stopped...

So.. A couple weeks ago i had 2 MRI's done of my back on a early Saturday morning. Each one lasted about 45 minutes long.
One of my upper back and one of my mid/lower back.

I have forgotten all the fancy terms and words, but i have some serious disc issues going own down in L3 and L4
that need to be addressed. I have some pinching around my spinal cord in my upper back around i dont even remember what vertebrae.
I guess that isnt an issue at the moment since the symptoms i have been experiencing arent related to that area.

Since i have already tried physical therapy with not really any good results, im getting a steroid injection.
The injection will hopefully take place next Thursday morning. I'll be down for about 24-36 hours. They dont want me doing anything.
Being too active i guess literally pushes the steroid away from the injury i guess. So i'll be off work Thursday and Friday and
i have the weekend off anyways.

The problems i have been having is constant pain.
I cant remember a day where i wasnt in pain.. Its really hard to live the life ive chosen to live. Im an active, very
active person and this has all made me to rethink things, slow down a bunch but still try to enjoy the things that i do.
So on top of the pain, i have numbness on my left side. It doesnt keep me from doing things but it has only gotten worse
within the last 8 months. Nine plus months ago, i had never experience numbness...

It'll happen if im standing, walking, sitting, not doing a thing, eating out at my favorite steak joint, playing with my
dogs, moving or working on firewood, it doesnt matter what im doing, ill lose feeling in my left side. Ive sustained a few
leg injuries and not known it because of this...

So yeah, the injection takes about an hour to do i guess. I'll be face down as comfortable as i can get with pillows.
I'll be laying on an xray table. I'll get injected with some iodine dye to located my nerves in the injured area.

The possible after affects are quite spooky but im just trying to keep my head above the water, trying to just keep in
mind that i will be in good hands.

Preparing my self for all of this is going to take its toll on me, especially if i have to have back surgery.
I meet tomorrow at 9am with a surgeon and we'll go form there.

Ive been trying to get help with my back for 7 years now.
I eventually gave up, im on my 3rd doctor now and he has really gotten the ball rolling for me. He has
helped me a ton and ive only had 2 visits with him. There are angels out there, sometimes it just takes
    some time to find them.

I hope the injection relieves your pain! Lots of people on this site with back issues, and some who have had good results from shots, like Backwoods Savage. Even if it's a temporary solution, your surgeon and latest doctor will hopefully come up with a plan to fix what is hurting you. What a hard thing, to be young and active, and be hobbled by pain.

Having back problems is not fun at all. 13 years ago pain in my left leg was so severe the oxy pain pills did nothing. Laying on the floor wasn't too bad. Ended up having back surgery to repair two ruptured discs in my lower back. Coming out of surgery and the pain was gone, just like flipping a switch. No further problems as long as I remember how to move safely and not surprise my back.

    Thats not good news.
but i have had surgery on my back and neck its a pain but i will help when its heals don't stress to much wait and talk with surgon. Ask many questions you need to understand and agree with what he wants to do. If you are not sure or don't like what he wants to do get a second opinion.

Time for some outdoor walking while my youngest is in Basketball practice. The 20 degrees weather should make for a nice, brisk, and fast evening walk. My son and I brought a little more wood in after we all ate some dinner.
