    That shagbark or Shellbark is some hard chit, and your 6100 ate it up.

    Ya it tears up some chain pretty fast. I have better results with chain staying Sharp in hedge (Osage orange) then our hickory. But it sure does make the coffee taste great!

    That was impressive.

    I've had the same experience with hickory here as well. Except for bitter nut hickory which has smooth bark. It's the shaggy bark it catches and holds all manner of dirt and debris.

    I agree with you guys as well. Some of the Osage I've got cut wasn't all that bad. Hickory, and stone dead locust can destroy a chain in short order.

    At almost 18 months of use this is still my favorite saw and such a well rounded work horse. I use it for the majority of my firewood processing from felling, to bucking, to being my wood splitter (noodling) I think it is stronger now then ever.
