Wood stove setups that make you cringe!

    I have two....my grandmothers house...built 1950's....had cast iron pipe. One inch thick and about ten or twelve inches diameter.single wall..it was.huge! From first floor ceiling out the roof...at ceiling there was a form made with 2 by fours..looked like pipe was set there with concrete...with no other support...on roof it was pipe to roofing contact with tar as sealent....least roofing was metal....i asked about the install...reply was that it never really gets that hot....,.....................second and most rexent was my nearest neifhbors house.....i noticed a while ago he installed a woodstove...been wanting to go inside an check it out....sitting in the addition was one of those bigger stoves that look similar to a floor model tv...big square ones...dunno how ro explain...but here is the thing.......fire burning in stove....but around the stove were boxes...clothes...evena chair...thrown all around the stove...wirh multiple stove.cumbustables contact....um...not in my house

    That dont make me cringe....that looks like it could keep someone warm and safe, as long as they clean the flue every month or so....
