We have cyote. And from a Clemson study they get at least 40% of the fawns.

They care if you use an AR to hunt??? Why? Its illegal to hunt deer with a .22 caliber so that makes the .223 illegal to hunt with but a .308 is not nor an AK platform with 7.62x39 if you like...tons of people use to hunt with surplus SKS back in the day I think. You can only legally have a 10 round magazine to hunt deer but why would you want or need more, just be added weight that is Un needed with over that many.

Several states are shotgun only for deer firearm season.

I know illinois is one. A co worker is from there and he goes back for the 3 day shotgun season almost every year.

Military base near me is shotgun or muzzelloader only. I have no idea why?

I know all the wildlife guys. Next time im there around them i will ask.

    ^^Another dildo'd state^^

NJ is just shotgun and muzzleloader, no rifles IIRC.

PA allows rifle in a lot of areas but no semi-autos for big game, only small game, and that just started this year. Prior to that no semi-auto at all.

No autos??? Thats strange. I get their argumemt maybe for big game, but small? Who cares if you can shoot at squirrels ir rabits as fast as you can, so few people hunt those anymore, plus you usually Can kill like 10 to 15?

Restrictions are by cartridge type here. Can use a rifle, but are limited basically to straight walled cartridges larger than. 38spl. I typically use a single shot NEF 20 gauge. Having a single shot (or muzzle loader) will make me take better shots. I used to lob lead all over the place with my 870 when I was first starting to hunt. Sabots offer near rifle performance these days.

I may take my 357 686+ out this year. That reminds me, I need a little range time this week!

No rimfire ammo here and no FMJ bullets, most everything is legal to use. 223 is legal, but I don't care for a bullet that light for deer. I do understand shot placement is vital and probably more deer been killed with 22's and 22 mag illegally than we know.
