    I learned to drive stick on a 1960 International Travelall 3 on the tree and overdrive. Isuzu wasn't even in our vocabulary then!

    Took my driving test in a 1972 Travelall 4 speed. got in with the testing dude, backed out of the parking stall (cars on both sides), put it in first to head out of the lot and show my stuff. didn't need to. Testing dude says, you passed, park it! guess in 1972 most new drivers were testing with automatics. we didn't have any, except grandma's 68 Belair - 2 speed slush-o-matic. She blew it up, and broke the motor mounts:rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:going to the garden club

    My oldest son, closing in on 40, drove his first 3 speed on the column a few months ago because his mechanic buddy who he works part time with couldn't master it. I would love to have a '56 Chevy pickup with one.

    I am not able to do pull cords either. I'll tip over trying to start the machine. I have an electric start snow thrower, and an electric start tiller. Some other tools with lithium batteries. Anything light weight is better for me. My son bought a plow for the truck so I don't anticipate I'll be doing much other than cleaning off the ramp.

    I have an 86 C10 that was stock with a 3 on the tree. Long ago converted to an auto trans by me..
