Glad you have heat, my family and I nearly froze our butts off when we without power in '98 . Hard to heat 2200 ft with one K 1 heater. I have a generator now that will run some things. Enough to keep our pellet stove going, plus a few other things. I can't explain it, but we have more frequent power outages and they last longer. My tolerance is much shorter now. But I have pets so I can't leave for any length of time.

I really enjoy how all of us are from different climates. It makes for fun reading and enjoyable conversations! My temps of just below freezing and snowing like a bass turd which are doing nothing for my ice fishing aspirations.

Not the greatest pic but heres a few 'townies' (white tails) that were wondering my street while I was out shoveling the driveway a few hours ago.

Nice! I look forward to some ice fishing pics if youre interested in sharing. I think we are creating ice as well but at the rate of a centimeter a day :(
Im hoping work slows down just in time for ice fishing season to become safe. I might go out with my son for some river white fish harvesting if time permits before the river freezes. I want to add the whitefish to some sockeye and kokanee salmon I have ready for the smoker.

I'm starting to think that people who choose to live in this part of Canada have rocks in their head lol

    18 feels like 28 C and should be hitting 20 feels like 31 C

Gloomy, gloomy, gloomy here. Have only seen the sun maybe 6-8 times and only 2 full days here since Oct 27th. Worst low sun stretch on record here according to the local news. No crazy temp fluctuations here either. Lows in the upper 20s highs upper 30s. Working on an ash, elm, boxelder mix still.

Warmed up to -11 C feels like -17 C with the wind, or 12 F feels like 1 F. Poplar and ash in the reactor so she's cozy in here. Only 4 more sleeps until I can go chase some deer, so I've got that kid waiting for x-mas feeling from now until I (hopefully) get one.:D

mild day here at 0c. We had about a foot of snow overnight but its slowed down now. The house is pretty warm so Ive got a few pieces of doug fir on the stove that will likely burn itself out through the day. Fired up my snow blower for the first time this year and it turned over after the third pull just like every other year.
